Milikowsky Cup

Jonathan Milikowsky Memorial Cup

Men's Lightweight 4+ Champions

Jon Milikowsky was somebody that people remembered after having met him. Quick to laugh and ready for anything, he had a spirit and a drive that not only made him a success wherever he applied himself, but bread excellence in those who were fortunate enough to be around him. Jon rowed for CMU Crew from 2001-2005, and coached CMU's novices following his tenure as a CMU rower. Jon was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 2005, and passed away in 2006.

To help commemorate Jon Milikowsky's life, the CMU Crew Team created the Milikowsky Cup in 2007, to be awarded to the fastest lightweight men's four at the URA Regatta each year. Each year, the winner will take possession of the cup until the next year's regatta. CMU has back-dated the winner's plaques. The very lightweight men's four in which Jon Milikowsky rowed as stroke seat won this event during the two years in which Milikowsky competed: 2004 and 2005.

Elizabeth "Liz" Barry Memorial Cup

Women's Novice 8+ Champions

Elizabeth Barry will be remembered by those who knew her as a source of endless joy and enthusiasm. Joining Washington University Crew as a freshman in the fall of 2008, she quickly developed strong friendships and a passion for rowing. Every practice and every regatta throughout the fall, Liz brought a positive energy to the team that was evident in her smile and the laughter of those around her. Her desire to continually learn and improve and her love and devotion for her teammates truly embodied the best of novice rowing. Liz passed away in December of 2008. In just one semester she forever changed the lives of those lucky enough to have known her.

In remembrance of Elizabeth Barry, Washington University Crew created the Barry Cup in 2009 to be awarded to the fastest novice women’s eight at the URA Regatta each year. The inscription on the cup reads "For Dedication, Effort and Teamwork".

Philip R. Kesten Cup

Men's Novice 4+ Champions

Phil Kesten was the first Coach for Brandeis Crew from 1986-1990, and his enthusiasm and love for rowing has helped build the program. Phil had to start off with novices at Brandeis so the cup for the men's novice 4+ is named in his honor. The cup was donated by Brandeis Crew to the regatta and first awarded in 2009.

Rathburn Cup

Men's Varsity 2- Champions

In 2008, Doug & Erynn Rathburn introduced the Rathburn Cup to be awarded to the fastest men's pair. Doug and Erynn have been avid supporters of small boat rowing and the URA Regatta. They are both alumni of Case Western Reserve and Doug is also an alum of the University of Chicago. Much of Doug's non-collegiate rowing was done in pairs and the trophy is meant to recognize that affinity and to highlight the speed of UAA schools in small boats. Plus his only URA medal as a rower was in the pair for University of Chicago in 2005!
